Volunteer in Hood River – April 5th, 2025
Join the neighbors of Indian Creek Trail in Hood River for this community restoration event!
Join Columbia Land Trust for a morning of land stewardship along Indian Creek Trail in Hood River. As part of our long-term restoration plan for this site, we will be planting bare root native shrubs, laying down mulch, and removing invasive blackberry. Together, we’ll transform this area into a beautiful space for nature and neighbors!
When: Saturday, April 5th, 2025, from 10:00am – 1:00pm
Where: The corner of 2nd St and Pacific Ave in Hood River
What to expect: Please check in with Land Trust staff at our tent before beginning any volunteer work. We will divide our volunteers into multiple activities including planting bare root shrubs, laying mulch, and removing invasive blackberry. These activities may involve bending, pulling, and utilizing tools such as shovels, loppers, and wheelbarrows. We will provide protective leather gloves and work tools, but local neighbors are encouraged to bring their own wheelbarrows, loppers, and shovels to supplement our supply. There will be a port-a-potty and water jug available on site for volunteers.
Items to wear or pack: Sturdy work boots, protective layers for weather and thorny plant material, a hat, sunscreen, and your own water bottle and snacks.
