[Virtual Event] PCEF & Conservation: Let’s Talk About It!
This event has ended, but you can view a full recording to recap the webinar
As Columbia Land Trust seeks to develop projects that address the climate crisis and support our equity commitments, it’s important to learn from local, successful models that are helping light the way forward.
Thanks to all that attended our virtual webinar The Portland Clean Energy Fund & Conservation: Let’s Talk About It! We were thrilled to host a community conversation around the opportunities that respond to climate changes and that support social and racial justice efforts. PCEF coalition members Anissa Pemberton (they/them) and Damon Motz-Storey (he/him, they/them) shared some perspective the Pacific Northwest Conservation movement could greatly benefit from.
About PCEF:
The Portland Clean Energy Fund was the first ever environmental measure in Oregon history created and led by communities of color. The goal: to create a more clean and just environment with voices from frontline communities at the center of the conversation. Two years into the measure being passed by Portland voters, the Portland Clean Energy Fund now prepares to award funding to dozens of small businesses, non-profits, affordable housing advocates, and environmental organizations this fall for local clean energy initiatives, green infrastructure and sustainable agriculture, workforce development and job creation. A huge local step toward a more inclusive climate movement, PCEF is an effort coming out of the Pacific Northwest that could influence nationwide efforts and strategies around climate action and solutions.
